Beauty Basket January 2012

Thursday, 2 February 2012

This is my second Beauty Basket (you can read about the first box here) and I was impressed with the first basket. The last box was a collection of anti aging products with also a purifying mask for younger skin. It was amazing value and stood out from other beauty boxes.

Of course the first box will always be the most amazing one as they want to WOW their customers and entice new customers to subscribe for the next box. But sometimes customers will unsubscribe after a couple boxes since it doesn't live up the the first box.

While this one isn't as incredible as the first basket (it is hard to top), I still really loved it. Again the packaging is beautiful. I love that you get a reusable basket (I used my last one as a nail polish holder) and that the information it came with includes a tip on how to use it.

This month they told us 4 out of the 6 products that we would receive. Even though you know what is coming it is still exciting to get your box.

Yes To Cucumbers Facial Towelettes ( 10 travel towelettes $3.95)
This is a full sized product (although it is a travel size) so it is perfect to put in your handbag, after the gym or if you are on a plane to freshen up. It includes cucumbers and aloe vera so it is great for sensitive skin. I love that it is a natural product (98% according to the packaging), doesn't contain parabens and they don't test on animals.

Australis Paparazzi Perfect High Definition Eyeshadow in Snap Attack ($14.95)
This is another full size product. I really like Australis products. It looks quite small for holding 5 different colours but is fantastic for travel or touch ups. Its only flaw is is doesn't have a brush with it, so if you have it in your bag, you also need to bring an eye shadow brush.

I really love the colours. They are nude/browns so they are perfect for a smokey eye!

Miessence Sunflower body Wash (50ml)
I haven't heard of this brand before. It is made in Australia and they used certified organic ingredients. It's a really cute size. What surprised me was that it has a really interesting smell. When I think of a sun flower, I thought it would be floral, but it is a citrus scent. It is perfect for your morning shower. It can also be used as a bubble bath for yourself or children.

Miessence Nourishing Hand Cream (3ml sachet)
This is great for dry and chapped hands. It contains certified organic ingredients like aloe vera leaf juice, sugar cane, shea fruit butter and olive oil.  It has quite a strong natural smell, but it is so moisurising and doesn't leave your hands greasy, just really smooth. I would have loved a bigger sample size as it is really nice. After cleaning this morning, it has made my hands really soft again.

There is also a voucher to get 20% off Miessence products from their website.

Agent Provocateur Eau Emotionnelle Perfume (1.5ml sample)
I already own a full size bottle of this perfume and I LOVE it. I loved their original scent, but this one is much more lighter and softer. It is really a sexy smell, perfect for date night!

Avene Ystheal + Cream (5ml sample)
This was our mystery Avene product. It is an anti aging serum that helps skin tone and wrinkles. It is best to use this at night, but if you have sensitive skin, only use it every second day.

As always with these boxes, the products are more than the $15 you spend on them. I still have 1 more left on my subscription. I can't wait to see the February box!

  6. I think I'm getting box overload...I wasn't even tempted to sign up for this though I would've liked to try the wipes and the shadow palette.

I wish we could just subscribe to a nail polish/make up box..I'd be happy to pay up to $20 for something that has only 3-4 products in it each month.
