How To: 2 Minute Manicure

Sunday, 15 April 2012

I love having my nails painted, but I don't really have the time (or patience) for doing them often. Luckily there is a quick, and easy, way to make your nails look like you've put in effort....even when you haven't!

Give your nails a quick file
They don't have to be perfect, just file them to make them look uniformed and neat. Don't worry about cutting them, because if you want to make it a 2 minute mani, you don't have time to cut/push back cuticles/nail art. All you want to do is to give the illusion of being perfect.

Get Buff
Use a nail buffer to make your nails shine. Use the rougher side first to buff the nail and make it smooth. Then use the softest part of the buffer. This will help to make them shine.

Wash
Quickly rinse your hands under water to get rid of any debris on your fingers.

Invisibility cloak
Use a clear nail polish to coat your nails. For when you're in a hurry, clear is the best "colour" because you only need 1 coat. If you miss a little bit of the nail, it isn't noticeable. What will be noticeable is how shiny and healthy your nails look! The best polish to use when you're in a hurry is one of the 60 seconds quick drying formulas.

  1. These tips are great. Another thing you can do is to use a nail strengthener as your coat. For instance I often use OPI Nail Envy which is a strengthener but it also shines up my nails so it still looks good:) X

  3. I find that when my nails are a bit longer, the tips get discoloured. Don't suppose you've any tips on that?
