Beauty Confessions

I saw this on Glossy Beauty yesterday and loved it so much I thought I would tell you my beauty confessions.

You do WHAT???

Dirty Hair

One of the perks of being a stay at home mum (who just works two afternoons a week) is that I can go up to nearly a week with dirty hair. I wash my hair on Sundays when I work and still have cleanish hair on Monday for the other day I work. Then unless I need to go out, I can leave it for as long as I need.

Now my hair being dirty is on purpose. For the days that I don't need to leave the house, I put on a handful of hair oil/leave in treatment and keep it in a bun. This not only nourishes my hair, it keeps my hair away from heat. While I would never do this if I worked full time, I love that I can just let my hair be left alone to recover from all the trauma I put it through when I need to go out.

I break my own rules

While I know it's terrible to brush your hair when it's wet, I just can't help it! I just don't have the time to blowdry my hair. So I'm sorry if in future I tell you not to do it while secretly doing it.

Sun scarred

I'm terrible at applying sunscreen. Not so much "I don't know how", but more "I have 8079 other products I apply in the morning, sunscreen gets forgotten about!" Luckily most cosmetics now have SPF, even if it's only SPF 15.

Shopping

I sometimes think I like the thrill of buying something more than actually using it. That would explain the countless items I've never used before!

Domestic Un-goddess

I love to be organised, but my bathroom just frustrates me! No matter how I organise it, it never sticks. I'm trying to find the holy grail of what works for me.

Accessor... damn I need to leave

In my head I think of all the ways I can accessorise my hair and make up to go with my outfit. In reality I'm trying to do 5 things at once and am lucky to remember to put on my wedding ring, let alone anything else. Getting yourself ready is hard enough, but add in a child and it's hopeless. I'm so concerned with making sure I have all of her things packed that I am lucky to leave the house in pants some days!

I will refuse to spend my money at a store that has bad customer service

We've all been there. The place that has 3 MUAs standing around talking while you're looking. Not one will say a word to you or even offer assistance. You wait around for a few minutes hoping they will help you out. You will either ask them for help and be made to feel like you are interrupting them, or LEAVE WITH YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY AND NEVER RETURN!

I work in retail so I know how hard it can be and some days are filled with ridiculous targets and rude customers, but there is NEVER an excuse to ignore customers. I would prefer to miss out on a brand than reward their crappy customer service with my money.

What beauty confessions would you like to tell me?

  2. agreed about customers! Even a smile and "hello" can be enough. I don't mind if sales assistants are talking but at least acknowledge me and help me when I ask!

I finally purchased a wide tooth comb and now use that to comb my wet hair. I now have fewer flyaway hairs which is nice! Comb lives in the bathroom, brush in the bedroom!

  3. I LOVE this, I might have to steal it...heaven knows I have enough confessions to make! I think we could start a chain!

I use a wide tooth comb to get rid of tangles when it's wet, but I definitely hear you on the shopping, domestic mess, and accessories, though I'm really making an effort now to mend my ways!

Oh, and I hear you on the bad customer service front, I'm the same. It's why I refuse to buy anything from MAC! Shocking service almost every time!

    2. Ohhh I know what you mean about MAC. I feel invisible everytime I go near them. It explains why I don't own anything MAC!

      Loved your confessions! :)

    1. Ohhh I used to be terrible at it too, but I tried to just wash my face an extra day each week and now I barely ever sleep with make up on now.
