Rave: Witch Blemish Stick

Saturday 14 July 2012

At 27, my skin is neither teenage nor does it need anti aging (yet). Anti aging products feel too heavy and greasy on my skin, but oil free products make my skin feel dry. I'm in the annoying stage of "not a girl, not yet a (mature) woman".

My skin still suffers from breakouts thanks to being sick, not getting enough sleep or being stressed out. The majority of blemish creams are too harsh for my skin and end up making the area worse. It becomes red and dry and just disgusting.

In my Priceline Skincare Goodie Bag there was a blemish stick by Witch. I had heard about this a lot on youTube and by bloggers who were raving about it. So I was excited to try it.

The Blemish Stick contains Witch Hazel Extract, which is a fantastic anti bacterial ingredient. I've always loved Witch Hazel and find that it never dries out my skin. It helps to cleanse and tone the skin, without leaving it dry.

The top is a twist top, which is great if you want to carry it in your bag to use in the afternoon. You push the bottom upwards to bring up the stick. Make sure you don't push it too high or you have to use your fingers to push it back down.

I don't find it has much of a smell, but other bloggers have said it's horrible. I guess I'm just used to Witch Hazel. It feels so cooling on the skin. And is easily rubbed in.

I really love this and have found it's perfect for any blemishes. It halves down the length of a pimple and is easily used under make up since it doesn't make the spots cakey.

What are your favourite products for blemishes?

  2. I've been using Lush Grease Lightning whenever I feel any spots coming on. I believe it has witch hazel in it, but when I finish that I definitely want to give this a go!

  3. This sounds great! I am definitely similar, skin isn't teenage, but still has it's blemish issues sometimes.
Will definitely have to give this a try!

  4. This sounds like a winner! I use Mario Badescu's drying lotion and though the calamine dotted look isn't so crash hot, it really does work :)

  6. I love Witch Hazel as well. I also purchased the Blemish Gel which you can leave on overnight and it's great! Recommend trying that out too!
