Biore's New Face Lift...and goodbye to some favourites

Wednesday, 8 August 2012

Every once in a while it's nice to have a new look. It might be trying out a new lip colour, changing the length of your hair or being more goth than girly.

Even brands need a new look. Some change their brand name, like Yves Saint Laurent who changed their name to Saint Laurent Paris earlier this year. Others find that too risky, so they change the packaging, like Coca Cola. Their packaging has had many changes over the years but it's still obviously Coke.

Biore are the latest brand to have a face lift. Moving away from the pale green packaging, all of their products will now be white. They also have colour coded their products to help you find your perfect skincare routine.

Blue is for deep cleansing. In this range it includes their Steam Activated Cleanser which has little beads in it that are activated with steam and water. The Pore Unclogging Scrub is one of my favourites. I am actually using it at the moment and its great because its a cream scrub that doesn't feel abrasive. The 4 in 1 Revitalising Cleanser helps to cleanse, tone, stimulate and detoxify all in one. If you want a make up remover wipe that gives you a deep cleanse, use the Daily Deep Pore Cleansing Wipes. The Daily Detoxifying Scrub has aloe, pomegranate and chamomile to leave skin softer and smoother.

Their pore strips are available in a few different types. There is available the Deep Cleansing Pore Strip in either Original or Ultra. The Ultra helps to invigorate with tea tree oils and witch hazel. Then they have the Combo Deep Cleansing Strips that have 7 nose strips and 7 face strips for the forehead.

Apart of the blue range is also a new product. The "Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser" is perfect for anyone that suffers from oily and dry skin. Finding a cleanser than is mild enough for dry skin, but still fights oil is difficult so this cleanser is perfect. This helps to cleanse, without disrupting your skin.

Orange is to clear your complexion. There are 3 products in the range. The Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser (which feels so cool and weird) helps to balance your skin for a clearer canvas. If you have blemishes, this is your holy grail cleanser. Otherwise if you love to get hot and steamy in the shower, the Warming Anti Blackhead Cleanser is your man. You can feel it working and cleaning out the pores. This is one of my favourite Biore products and is great especially in winter. The Triple Action Toner contains Salicylic Acid to fight breakouts. You can really feel this toner work and help to erase those peski pimples.

There is only one product in the teal range (for now). The Nourish Moisture Lotion SPF 15+ moisturiser contains green tea, vitamins A, C and E, rosehip, chamomile and Aloe. It has all of my favourite ingredients in it!! I haven't tried this before and can't wait to test it out.

The final product in the new look is another make up removing wipe. This is in the pink range. It helps to get rid of waterproof mascara and make up. These are good with any skin type. I've tried them and they are FANTASTIC! They don't leave your skin clean feeling dry or harsh like some make up wipes do. They also sell these in a small 10 wipe pack, that's great to have when travelling or when you have unexpected sleep overs.

With the good news of a new look and new product, comes the bad news of some amazing products that didn't make the cut. The Power Couple Moisturiser with SPF 30+, the Skin Boosting Night Serum and both eye creams have been discontinued. I haven't tried these before, but will have to try my local Priceline to see if they are still available before they are gone forever.

As for my beloved Even Smoother Microderm Exfoliator (which I've raved about here before), it will be available until the end of the year. That sound you just heard is my heart breaking! It really is an amazing exfoliator. If you no longer can find it instore, it's because I've bought every single one available in Australia!!

I've also reviewed 3 of their products here before, so check it out.

Are you a fan of the new look?

  1. Ugh, that packaging is horrid! I love Biore's current pale green packaging, it's very eye catching and girly.

  2. I don't mind the new look though I was a real fan of the pale green also. No matter, at least their products are still fabulous! I can't wait to try all of these out :)

  3. I like how everything is colour coded and I will deffo be trying some of this but I'm unsure of the packaging because I always thought the green was really classy and made it stand out a bit from other brands. I always think white packaging looks a little cheap.
