Christmas In July Blogger Swap Reveal

Thursday, 9 August 2012

A while back, Mystique from Beast And Beauty announced that she was doing another global blogging beauty swap. I participated in her Valentine's Day one, and loved it, so I jumped at the chance to do the Christmas in July swap.

I got paired with the lovely Marie, who lives in the UK. She sent me some really gorgeous things.

Here they are...

Sleek "Oh So Special Palette"
And it truly is special. I was so excited when I saw this. I've heard great things about Sleek lately from bloggers, especially their blushes, and can't wait to try it out for myself. The palette has 12 gorgeous mineral eye shadows, 7 matte and 5 shimmer. While the palette is big, it isn't bulky so it's perfect for travelling. It has a great mixture of colours, so no matter your preference, there is a colour (or three) for everybody. Marie said that Sleek eyeshadows are highly pigmented and fantastic!

Barry M Nail Paint in "Dusky Mauve" and Bright Red"
I can't wait to try this. "Dusky Mauve" is a gorgeous metallic purple, while "Bright Red" is...well bright red!! I've seen Barry M nail polishes on a lot of blogs, but have never used them. I'm interested to see how they stack up against Australian nail polishes.

Soap & Glory "Hand Food"
Soap and Glory have been on my "to try" list for about a year now. So I'm so excited to try out their hand cream. The packaging is really cute and reminds me of a comic book. I adore hand creams and am forever trying new ones. This has to be one of the best I've EVER tried. It's soft and easy to rub in. While it keeps your hands moisturised, it doesn't leave your hands greasy, slippery or shiny. It has a nice smell, and although I can't explain it, just trust me that's its pretty. It's become my favourite and now sits next to my bed. It's the perfect size to also pop in your handbag.

Soap & Glory "The Righteous Butter"
This smells incredible!!! I love body butters (especially because it's winter here in Australia) and this one feels amazing. You just want to slather yourself in it. I  love that it isn't greasy or sticky.

Rimmel "Glam Eyes HD" Eyeshadow
This one is in 008 True Union Jack (love the name). Rimmel are such a huge British brand all around the world, and I love them. But I haven't actually used their eye shadows before!! Which is a big shock. I've tried their foundations, concealers, mascaras, eyeliners, lipstick and lip glosses but never their eyeshadows. I do own 2 but just have never opened them. So i NEED to try this! I like that it tells you where to place what colour. It's perfect for anyone learning about where to place colours.

Gosh Long Lasting Lip Marker in "003 Berry"
I've heard a little bit about Gosh, but haven't tried them before. The colour of this is gorgeous. I've used the lip markers from Revlon and Rimmel, so I can't wait to see how this compares.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in "020 Lovesick"
Even though this isn't British, Marie included it as she read my review on the Face Of Australia Lip Crayons and thought I would like it. I'm so excited about these since it's not available yet in Australia. The colour is so beautiful. And it feels really nourishing and soft on your lip. I'm going to have to get more of these!

She also wrote a sweet note explaining the products and either why she loves them or why she bought them for me. One of my favourite parts of the blog swap has to be the note that comes with it! It's so nice and makes it a bit more personal. She also has the nicest writing too!!

If you're interested in seeing what I got her check out her post here. I'm so glad she liked the box of goodies I sent :)

Did you participate in the blogging swap? What did you get and what did you send? Comment below or link you blog post on it!
XO
