Gift With Purchase: Becca Creme Eyeshadow from Madison Magazine

Tuesday, 21 August 2012

Everyone loves a GWP!! They can be a great way of trying out new brands, or even new products or colours. Without GWPs, I would have never tried, and fallen in love with Mirenesse.

The latest magazine GWP is from Madison that have a free Becca Creme Eyeshadow. They have 2 colours to pick from, Gilt and Vicuna.

Vicuna is a beautiful pale apricot shimmer.

Gilt is a gorgeous chocolate brown with golden shimmer. They retail for AU$42.

They go on as a cream and set to a powder. I was really impressed with the fact that they didn't crease even though I wasn't wearing a primer underneath. The formula is long lasting and lasted me from day to night. The formula is water resistant, although I didn't test out how effective it is.

One thing to be wary of is that they can be difficult to set, especially if you are layering. Don't apply them in a hurry or they won't look great. You can either use your fingers or brushes, but just take your time to apply them and let it dry before building up the colour or applying another color onto the eye.

I love Gilt (the chocolate brown one), but be careful not too build it up too much since it has the golden glittery shimmer effect, which can be too disco for day wear.

Did you get this? Which colour did you get?
XO

  1. I got Vicuna. I haven't tried it yet but it sounds promising if it doesn't crease :)

  2. I dislike the formula of these - it creased quickly, which is a problem I don't have normally on my dry lids.

    1. That's so odd. I have more oily lids and had no creasing at all. I applied it with a brush...i wonder if that made a difference.

    1. Vivuna was in the box, while Gilt was just sticky tapped onto the magazine.

  4. I saw these the other day and just had to pick them up, unfortunately there was only one magazine left in the store I went to and it had gilt, I haven't tried mine yet but ended up going to a different store to get vicuna; I think it will be perfect for underneath a cat eye or maybe even for highlighting the cheekbones? We shall see!

    1. Yep, a mag freebie is the best! Less expensive than a instore GWP :)

  7. OK, so I've been to about 8 different stores searching for Vicuna but all they have is tons of Gilt! has anoyone else picked this up in Vic? I'm starting to think stores may have only been supplied with Gilt as they literally all had like 50 copies of the mag with only the one colour...

    1. I'm not in VIC but i know my local Coles only stocked the Gilt. I found the Vicuna at a newsagent. I've seen that colour stocked only in the newsagent in NSW.
