What's Your Make Up Style Tag

Tuesday, 14 August 2012

I'm a huge fan of tag post and have done a few before (see my "This or That" tag here). I saw this one the other week from Sweetaholic Beauty and knew I had to do it on my blog.

1. EEK! You’ve got five minutes to do your makeup for a date. What’s your minimum?

Foundation, a shimmery pale brown/nude eyeshadow, brown eyeliner to define my upper lash line, mascara and a lip balm followed by a clear or nude lip gloss. Sounds like a lot, but it takes only 2 or 3 minutes.

2. Pick a trend—crazy cat eyeliner, super hot pink blush, or feathered false lashes?

Crazy Cat Eyeliner. I love pink blush, but don't like to heap it on since I have some random bits of pigmentation on my cheeks. And me and false lashes look silly, not to mention my daughter would probably rip them off since she's fascinated with my lashes when I have mascara on.

3. If you had to either give up all makeup for two months or give up your skincare for a week, which would you pick?

If I had flawless skin, it would be make up. BUT since I'm far from flawless it has to be skincare. At least if I ate well, drank bucket loads of water and took vitamins, it would look after my skin.

4. What beauty products are always in your purse?

9 or so lipglosses/lipsticks, lip balm, pressed powder and powder brush. I used to have a perfume too but don't anymore.

5. Are there any beauty products that you keep coming back to throughout the years?

Natio Mineral Powder Bronzer And Enhancer. I adore it. Also rosehip oil although I don't have a particular brand of it I like.

6. Smoky eyes or red lips?

I love red lips, but it can be hard to pull off. So a brown smokey eye. Never dark or I look like I've hit into something.

7. Lipstick or lipgloss?

Lipgloss since it's so easy to wear. You never need a mirror to apply it!

8. Are there any products that you never expected to like but ended up loving?

Not really, since I normally do my research first before purchasing. But I was really surprised with the Nivea Express Hydration Body Lotion. I  normally find Nivea moisturisers are heavy, oily, greasy and smell bad. Also I find an hour or two after applying them that my skin feels dry again. But with this one I had none of that (minus the bad smell... it still smells not so nice).

And lastly I've added an extra one...

9. Any products you expected to love, but ended up hating it instead?

Most cleansing oils. The blogging world went crazy for them 2 or 3 years ago, but it took me a LONG time to find my perfect one. The Bobbi Brown one made me break out. While the Shu Uemura cleansing oil left me feeling underwhelmed.

I also don't understand the hype about the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara. I found the quality not that great. It smudged and didn't really do much for my lashes. I tried it when I was a teen (about 13 years ago) so maybe the formula is much better, but I've stayed away from it because of my previous bad experience.

What's your make up style?

    1. Thanks hun.

I've turned off captcha. I had to put it on as I had someone spamming me about 8 times in a matter of minutes. :( Thought if I had it on for a little bit they would stop :) Thanks for letting me know. Damn spammer :(
