Sephora Haul!! Part 1: Tarte

Back in November, my husband went to the US on a work trip. Being the supportive wife I am, I gave him a list of goodies I wanted from Sephora. And being the awesome husband he is, he knew it was in his best interest to get them for me! ;)

It's really hard making a list when they have SOOOOO many amazing brands there. It took me a good 3 days to end up with my list. It's also really hard to write a list, not knowing if anything will still be in stock. I didn't want to go overboard, but also didn't want to miss out on anything.

I had quite a long list at first, but I did a lot of research to weed out the ones that weren't really that great. Originally, I was going to get a few Sephora packs, but once I really looked at them, I realised they weren't as great as other things on my list. While the packs are amazing value for money, it seemed like there were only a few items that I loved, then the rest of the box didn't excite me or suit my skin tone. There was a really great pack from Sephora called "In The Glow" that contains blushes, bronzers and illuminizers. While I loved 2 products, the rest were colours that wouldn't suit me or I wouldn't wear. So I had to kick it off the list. (You can see it here)

I included a few extra products just incase my number 1 picks were sold out.

This is what he came back with....

Tarte "Carried Away With Tarte" Collector's Set & Adventure Bag
This was my number 1 pick on the list. I've never used Tarte before but have heard great things about them from beauty bloggers. This kit is INCREDIBLE! I'll have to be honest, I liked it when I saw it on the Sephora website, but once I started researching it and watching YouTube videos and reading blogs, I NEEDED this.

It comes in this fantastic cosmetics case. It's perfect for travelling as its big and can fit in a lot of products, but it's not bulky.

It contains 8 lipglosses in a wide range of colours. From baby pink to red to nude and sparkly, it has got every make up look covered.

They have also included a "Smooth Operator" finishing powder, a "Lights Camera Lashes!" mascara and their universally loved Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush. The blush is in "Adventurous."

There is also a really nice brush, that's really soft. I was quite surprised at the quality of the brush.

One of the coolest parts of the pack is hiding behind the mirror. Included is an eyeshadow palette with 24 eyeshadows. There are browns, golds, purples and greens. I love that the palette is relatively simple and neutral, since I normally stick with plain colours.

This retails in the US for $54.00, and has $512.00 worth of value. This is such an amazing pack. It's the perfect pack for either anyone that is just getting into make up, or is new to the brand.

For a really indepth review and amazing swatches check out Temptalia's post. It's incredible!

Also on my list was their...

"Fantastic Foursome" 4 piece Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush Set

Their blushes are always featured on bloggers favourite lists. This pack has 4 different colours. There's a champagne blush which is great for highlighting. The fuchsia and coral are gorgeous everyday blushes, while the bronze blush is great for a sunkissed look (but may be too dark for my pale skin).

See swatches of the blushes here. Most of the reviews I saw on blogs had heavy swatches. I was "umming" and "ahhhing" about getting this because of the heavy swatches. I would never wear a bright bright pink on my cheeks. But luckily I saw a YouTube video where they blended it out, so I could actually see what it was like in a more natural state.

I've heard they are a great long lasting formula, but I'm really intrigued to see how well they handle the warm Australian summer.

I haven't used either of these yet, but will very very soon!

I really like the fact that Tarte are a cruelty free brand. What I don't like is the fact that they are next to impossible to buy in Australia.

Also on my list was their "Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush." Sadly they didn't have it. I will have to find a way of getting it, as I've heard great things about it.

Have you used Tarte before?
XO

    1. Hopefully you'll be able to try them soon. It's a pity Mecca or Kit don't stock them.

    1. I'm super excited to try it. I normally wouldn't go for colours so pigmented, but having seen them applied lightly, they look amazing.
