Revlon Haul + a GWP Or Two!!

Friday, 10 May 2013

Here in Australia, Revlon is on the higher end for "drugstore" make up. Their foundations are $34.95-$49.95 here and their lipsticks start at $21.95 , so I normally only purchase Revlon when there's a GWP on or a buy one get one half price/free.

Luckily at the moment both Myer and David Jones are having a Revlon GWP.

At Myer when you spend $39.95 or more you get to pick between 2 GWP packs. There is a "Pop" gift set, which includes pinks and nudes. Then there is a "Bohemian" gift set which has reds and darker eyeshadows.

Because I already have a couple of the products in the "Pop" gift set, I went with the "Bohemian" gift set.

Here's what's in the boho pack...

PhotoReady Sculpting Blush Palette in "Berry"
PhotoReady Primer + Shadow in "Graffiti"
"Saucy" Nail polish
Super Lustrous Lipstick in "Abstract Orange"
ColorStay Eyeliner in "Black"

I love that the back of the packaging explains how to to use the eyeshadow palette. I've heard mixed reviews on the eyeshadow palette, so I'm glad I can try it before I buy anymore colours.

I love the cute cosmetics bag that comes with the pack. It's big enough to hold your essentials, but is still small enough to fit in your handbag.

To get the pack I bought...

PhotoReady Cream Blush in "Flushed"
ColorStay Lip Liner in "Wine"

I've been wanting to get the PhotoReady Cream blushes for a while and finally purchased this. They had sold out of the "Coral Reef" which is my favourite out of the 3, so I picked up the lipliner instead of 2 cream blushes like I originally planned. Lipliner wasn't even on my wishlist, but I swatched this and thought it would be a great lipliner for my Rimmel Kate Moss Long Lasting Finish Lipstick in 107.
Read more about both of the gift packs over at The Beauty Of Red Roses.

The GWP is only available for another week, so get in quick!

Over at David Jones, they also have a GWP when you spend $39.95 or more.

There is only one type available.

In the pack you receive...

Photoready 3D Volume Mascara in "Blackest Black"
ColorStay 16 Hour Eye Shadow Ombre in "Decadent"
ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick in "Finale"
ColorStay Lipliner in "Rose"
"Cherries in the snow" nail polish
and a make up compact mirror.

I love that the eyeshadow palette is nude, since I'm very unadventurous and simple with my eyeshadow.  The nail polish is a gorgeous pinky red. I've never tried a revlon lip liner, so I can't wait to see how it looks, especially as it's the ColorStay formula and it's supposed to last and last and last. I really love the mirror as well. It's always good to have a mirror in your handbag to check if your mascara has smudged or if you have your lunch stuck in your teeth.

I'm looking forward to trying out the Ultimate Suede. I have two of them (see my review of "High Heels" here), but they are a paler colour. I've read a lot of reviews saying that they are really drying but all of those reviews had the dark colours. So I'm interested to see how drying "Finale" is.

To get the GWP I bought 3 of the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. Two of them are the new (to Australia) colours, "Rendezvous" and "Crush." I also purchased "Romantic" because whenever Priceline had a special on Revlon, Romantic was ALWAYS sold out.

Have you picked up one of these Revlon GWP...or both?
XO

  1. I didn't know David Jones were also having a GWP! My daughter picked up the POP GWP last week and we love the purse that it came in. Normally I don't use the cosmetic cases that GWP's comes in but this one is a really great size that at a pinch could be used as a clutch!

Looking forward to hearing what you think of the eyeshadow palette. I am hoping to try my daughter's one over the weekend.

  2. It's crazy how much we pay over here! They have some fantastic products but it's always such a shame about the price because I find that's what deters me most of the time.
That blush looks AMAZING! Hope to see you using it because I'd love to see how the color translates as a blush!
