These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things... July Skincare and Make Up Favourites 2013

Sunday, 18 August 2013

Because I had a lot of favourites in July I split my favourites into 2 post. I've already blogged about my favourite hair care products here and have part 2 today.

Here's my favourite skincare and make up products for last month...

Skincare

Racinne Aqua Blanc Tonic (Toner)*

Racinne is from Canada and was recently released in Australia. I've been using this mist toner for a while now and adore it. It's so hydrating and gentle on my skin. I love the packaging and love that it's a mist, not a spray.

It contains aloe vera extract so it's so gentle on my skin, especially after I've exfoliated. I also have the matching moisturiser and am going to be blogging about it very soon.

Designer Brands Paw Paw Plus

This was a sample that I picked up in Priceline when they had a rep there offering make overs. While I declined the make over, they offered me a sample of paw paw.

I used to love Paw Paw when I was a teen and I don't think any girl in my class didn't have at least one paw paw tube in their school bag. I hadn't use paw paw lotion in a long time and this DB sample made me fall in love with it all over again.

Paw Paw lotion can be used in so many ways and it's quite inexpensive. I used the sample as a hydrating lip balm. This paw paw lotion contains amazing ingredients like manuka honey, shea butter, cocoa seed, vitamin E, bees wax and jojoba. It also contains 8% natural paw paw extract.

I'll be picking up a full size one from Priceline this week.

Dr LeWinn's Fusion 4 Cleansing Oil*

I've already blogged about this (here) and it's still my holy grail oil cleanser. I love everything about it. It doesn't contain mineral oil, it smells beautiful and removes my make up easily.

I already have a back up of this that I bought so I don't run out. If you haven't tried this before, put it on your list of things to buy. It's really great and relatively inexpensive ($29.95 for 200mls) and lasts quite a while even with daily use.

DMK Solar Damage Gel*

I was gifted this when I attended a Adelaide Beauty Bloggers Meetup (ABBM) at The Laser Lounge (which I've blogged about here). It's an amazing gel that hydrates and helps to repair skin from sun damage. Regardless of if you are in the sun all day or only go out in the sun for a few minutes, this gel is for you.

It contains water, aloe leaf extract and hyaluronic acid (which is an amazing ingredient you can learn all about here). I apply it to my skin either before or after my moisturiser (depending on how heavy the moisturiser is) and then apply sunscreen. My skin is left feeling soft and hydrated without feeling or looking oily.

DMK Deep Pore Pure Cleanser

I'm obsessed with this cleanser. It's a gel cleanser but is still soft and gentle on my skin. It's really helped with breaking up my congested skin. While my skin isn't clear (yet), I've noticed such a difference in only a matter of weeks.

While it's pricey ($68), I've felt it's worth the empty wallet.

Make Up

Arbonne Make Up Primer*

Because I've been dealing with congestion, I've been using a primer to give the illusion of a smoother base. I normally don't like silicone feeling primers, but this one is great. My skin doesn't look as bumpy when I use it.

I've previously reviewed it here

Eles Mineral Blush in "Coral Sun"*

If I could only own one blush, this would be it!! It's jumped onto my holy grail list and I've barely touched another blush since receiving it.

It's the perfect colour. Not too pink and not too peach. It also has a gorgeous sheen to it that makes my cheeks glow without being shiny or sparkly.

It has a lot of pigment, so you only need a small amount. I've reviewed it already so click here to see swatches.

Mirenesse Magic Touch Foundation

This came in one of the VIP boxes you get when you're a VIP customer. It's an amazing foundation. It's light but still provides enough coverage to hide imperfections. A little bit goes a long way too, so this has lasted me for 8 months and I've still got some left.

It's a great every day foundation. I'll be sad once it's finished.

Maybelline Super Stay 24hr Waterproof Powder

I didn't really have many expectations on this powder when I first used it, as it hasn't really been blogged about much.

Since my first impressions review (see here), I've used it quite a lot and really like it. I go between this powder and the Rimmel Stay Matte to help set my make up for the day.

I tend to use this more when I want more coverage, since it's a "coloured" powder, unlike the Rimmel powder I use which is translucent.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation (New Formula)

I'm a big fan of the original formula of the Healthy Mix Foundation. The new formula is more like the serum version because it's lighter.

Since buying it and using it most days, I've really fallen in love with the formula. It's a great everyday foundation. It helps to cover imperfections, but still lets your skin show through. It gives you glowing skin without being shiny.

You can read my first impressions review here

I'm busy testing out new products, so you'll be (hopefully) seeing new favourites here next month. I've also been working hard on finishing off products, so get ready for another bumper empties at the end of the month!

  2. Great favourites! I'm terrible at finishing stuff, it always seems to take me forever and I feel so guilty having too many of the same products open!

  5. Love DMK also, I did training for them once and loved using their products! If you haven't tried one of their facials yet you should certainly look into it, your skin will never have felt so soft!! I used to use Cetephil to get my makeup off and then my DMK for the second cleanse as Cetephil is cheap and you can use it over your eyes, this way I wasn't wasting my money on getting makeup off.

  6. Sarah - Hahaha, ohh I know how you feel about still having to finish your current one. I have WAY too many products that are opened.

MM- I'm the same. I'm really trying to get through my opened products... but I swear they are just multiplying.

Tegan-The Bourjois foundation is great! Such amazing quality for the price.

Samantha - i'm hoping to have a facial with the DMK products soon. I've heard so many amazing things about them. I also want to try out more of the DMK range. It's pricier, but AMAZING!
