bhave "Rescue Intense Shampoo and Conditioner" and "Deep Intense Conditioning Masque" Review

Monday, 16 September 2013

For the last month I've been trialling the new bhave "Rescue Intense Repair Shampoo and Conditioner." This salon range is perfect for anyone that is brutal on their hair. Heat styling and bleach are my hair crimes, and this new duo is made for me.

Before I started using this, I had issues with curling my hair. While my hair is naturally wavy, all of the damage that I've done has really impacted the health of my hair and was making it impossible for my hair to retain heat styled curls.

Also whenever I used to blowdry my hair, it would be all frizzy and "blah." To make my hair frizz free, I would need to run a straightener over my hair. All of that lead to more damage and I was really tempted to cut half of my hair off!!

Luckily the beautiful people from bhave sent me some products and my hair has done a complete turnaround!

The shampoo is a gel that you use twice. The first wash gets rid of styling products and the second wash makes sure your hair and scalp is clean.

I first do a quick shampoo, and then on my second shampoo I let it sit for 2-3 minutes and let the ingredients work their magic.

It contains keratin to help strengthen hair. Unlike other brands, this keratin has new technology and penetrates the hair shaft to repair damage and rebuild your hair.

The conditioner is a rich creamy formula that is hydrating and easy to use. It has a gorgeous smell, that is slightly more intense than the shampoo.

The conditioner also has the new Replicine Functional Keratin that rebuilds the hair strand.

My hair is fine, so sometimes moisturising conditioners can be heavy and make my hair feel weighed down. Luckily even though this is hydrating, it's still lightweight.

The conditioner also contains argan oil, which leaves my hair soft, smooth and shiny (not greasy).

The shampoo and conditioner has different coloured lids, so it makes it easier to remember which bottle is the shampoo and which one is the conditioner.

These are also free from parabens, sulphates and sodium chloride. It's perfect for those who have a keratin treatment in their hair.

They also don't test on animals!

I normally use inexpensive to midrange hair products, but have found that these products are worth the extra money. The shampoo and conditioner retail for $43.95 for 300ml. Luckily the bottled are quite generous and I've only used a third of the bottle, so these should last me another 7 or 8 weeks.

If you're on a budget, alternate every wash with these and a inexpensive shampoo and conditioner. This way you still get great results, but the products will last longer.

Another product that I'm trialling is their "Deep Intense Conditioning Masque." While I'm hopeless at remembering to use a face mask, I NEVER skip applying a mask on my hair.

I've been using this mask every wash. I do my double shampoo, quickly towel dry my hair and then apply this mask. While it repairs and transforms your hair, it works in as little as 5 minutes. This mask is perfect for anyone that doesn't have 20-30 minutes to use a mask, but still want soft and repaired hair. After I wash out the mask I then apply the conditioner for 2 or 3 minutes to lock in the mask.

Every since I've been using these I've noticed such a difference in not only the strength of my hair, but also the fact that I don't have as much hair shedding as before.

Another thing that I've noticed is that I can easily blow dry my hair, apply a hair oil and that's it!! No needing to straighten it afterwards to get rid of frizz.

My hair is left soft, smooth, frizz free and is much easier to style. I also find that my hair has this gorgeous shine, which isn't always the easiest thing to get when you're blonde.

This also contains the keratin and argan oil for strong, healthy and glowing hair. It costs $41.95 for 170gm. In the last month I've used just under half of it.

bhave also have other shampoo and conditioners for different hair types. See their "Hydrator Moisturising" and "Magnify Voluminising" range as well as their "Anti-Dandruff" and "Bombshell Blonde" shampoo here

Another great product they have is a salon only product that helps restore hair. It's for truly damaged hair that need more than just a mask to revive it. I'm hoping to get it done in the next coming weeks, but just need to find the time. You can see a review of their Rescue Treatment here
