Maybelline "Dream Pure BB Cream For Oily Skin" Review

Friday, 20 September 2013

In the last year, there's been an explosion of BB creams. From highend to drugstore, there's one to suit every budget.

Recently, they've started to release BB creams that are suited to more skintypes. When BB creams first hit the Priceline and supermarket aisles, a lot of combination to oily skin girls complained that the BB cream made them oily and broke them out.

Maybelline have released their BB cream that is targeted for those that have combination to oily skin. It's an oil free formula that also contains 2% salicylic acid. I love that it not only gives me coverage, but can help reduce those pesky blemishes.

I love BB creams for lazy days at home. But one downside to some BB creams is that they're oily, especially if you have combination or oily skin. They can also look greasy after wearing it for a few hours. Because this is made for oily skin, it's perfect for anyone that's worried about breaking out or getting greasy skin.

I suffer from a lot of pigmentation, and sadly this didn't have enough coverage to cover it. While I won't be wearing it out by itself, it's the perfect cover to wear around the house.

It has more of a matte finish, so I can skip using powder to stop afternoon shine.

It's really easy to apply and sinks into the skin quickly. I like that it has SPF 15 in it already, but because it's for oily skin, if I want I can use a sunscreen underneath and still not feel oily or like I'm wearing a mask.

Even though I'm quite fair, the lightest colour was light enough for me and doesn't have an orange tinge like other BB creams or tinted moisturisers. It's only available in 2 colours (light and medium) but it's supposed to adjust to your skintone.

It's great value for money! If you're looking for something with light coverage that won't leave you with oily skin, then this is what you need!!

Are you still loving the BB cream craze, or are you already onto the CC train?

  1. I'm really undecided about this. The Rimmel BB cream seems similar and I don't really like it - I only use it so its not going to waste! Its good that you like it, the matte finish sounds pretty good!
