Skin Physics "Pore Away Mattifying Base Primer"

This amazing product is something that I would have missed if I was in the aisles of Priceline. It's hidden in the skincare aisle. Also because it's called "Pore Away" it's normally a product that I wouldn't pick up. While I don't have a huge issue with enlarged pores (my biggest skin gripe is uneven skintone), I do love to use pore strips on my nose to reduce pores.

I was kindly sent this and have been so impressed with it. While, as the name suggests, it shrinks the appearance of pores, it also does so much more!

Can be used by itself or under make up
Provides a smooth base for make up
Reduces shine for up to 8 hours
Gives a matte finish

It's starting to heat up in Australia (except today, Adelaide is very cold) and even though my skin isn't oily, it does get shiny after lunch. Whenever my skin gets shiny, it just magnifies my imperfections and blemishes.

I was SO impressed that even though this helps to keep your skin matte, it doesn't make my skin feel tight or dry so it's perfect for dry to normal skin. It's lightweight and oil free, so you don't need to worry about a heavy base making you break out.

It's really easy to use. You only need a thin layer to cover your whole face. I like to leave a minute in between applying this and applying my foundation or BB cream.

You can use this as a classic primer. Otherwise it's also a great option to use for those that get shiny skin from using sunscreen. I've also used it as a spot primer on my t-zone to stop afternoon shine.

It's a clear gel, that easily and quickly sinks into your skin. It's not a silicone primer, so you don't have that mask like feeling.

I really love the packaging. You think that it's going to be a tube, but it actually has a pump applicator.

It costs $49.95 for 40ml and is available from their online store (here) and from Priceline. While it's on the pricier side, it does so much and yet you only need a little bit. Priceline regularly has the brand on sale, so I'll be picking up one once this is running low.

You can see the Skin Physics range here. Also in the Pore Away range, there's an Overnight Perfecting Cream and the Intensive Refining Serum. Skin Physics also has a BB cream that I haven't tried, but have seen a few bloggers rave about. It's available in 3 shades and it reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, crow’s feet, blemishes, dry dehydrated skin, dark circles, enlarged pores and uneven skin tone. It's now on my wishlist. You can see it here

Does you use a mattifying primer?
XO

  1. This sounds interesting. I think I would have walked passed it too. I have a Smashbox mattifying primer but sometimes the foundation clumps on it which is weird and annoying.
