One of the best things about the internet (specifically youTube and blogs) has to be the fact that you can learn about so many new brands and products without leaving your home.
Before the internet, only those in the know (or who lived in Europe) knew about how fantastic French skincare brands are.
One of those brands is La Roche-Posay. LRP is recommended by over 25,000 dermatologists worldwide for a reason... their products are fantastic for sensitive skin. They also have beautiful products at a really affordable price.
With La Roche-Posay now easily available outside of Europe, now's the time to try out their products.
For the last 4 weeks I've been trialling 3 of their products and am excited to share them with you.
Toleraine Dermo-Cleanser
The "Cleansing and Make-Up Removal Fluid" is a great 2 in one product that's great for very sensitive, intolerant and allergy prone skin.
This creamy cleanser can be used either as a typical cleanser where you apply it to your skin, rub it in and then wash it off.
Otherwise you can use this similar to a micellar water, where you apply it and use a make up pad to remove it. You don't need water to wash the cleanser off, so it's perfect for those lazy nights when you're too tired to wash your face or for travelling.
One thing that I noticed is that it feels really refreshing and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth. I could even leave my skin free of toning and moisturising for over 10 minutes and my skin didn't feel tight or dry like other cleansers can make it feel.
If you have sensitive skin or dry skin, then this cleanser is for you!
This retails for $22.95 for 200ml.
Effaclar Duo Corrective And Unclogging Anti-Imperfection Care
It can't be a La Roche-Posay post without mentioning the Effaclar Duo. This is on ever bloggers holy grail or favourites list.
A lot of products that are for oily or acne prone skin are quite harsh, but the beautiful thing about this, is the products are still suitable for those that have skin on the sensitive side.
This helps to reduce and unclog pores. While it helps to banish blemishes, it's non drying and gentle on your skin.
I've noticed since using this, it's had a huge impact on the type of blemishes I was getting. Before I was having volcanic sized blemishes that were not only painful, but also were sticking around for 2 weeks (or sometimes even more). While I can handle blemishes (thanks to the powder of concealer), painful pimples aren't nice at all... especially when they are on the side of your face and you're trying to sleep!
The reason why this is so effective is down to 5 powerful ingredients. Niacinamide and Piroctone Olamine purify and protect your skin from developing breakouts while a mixture of LHA and Linoleic Acid eliminates dead skin cells and unclogs pores. LHA is similar to Salicylic Acid and helps to eliminate bacteria found in the pores. It also contains their soothing Thermal Spring Water to calm the skin.
You can use this either once or twice a day (I use it twice a day) to clean skin.
This is a fantastic product for anyone that suffers from breakouts, but it's especially great for those that hate products that tries to reduce blemishes by drying out the skin.
I haven't tried the matching cleanser, but have only heard positive things about it.
This retails for $25.95 for 40ml.
Rosaliac AR Intense Localised Anti-Redness Intensive Care
My skin is naturally on the pink/red side, which is made more noticeable because I have fair skin. Certain products or ingredients can make my skin react and become red... while sometimes just washing my face can make it pink.
This cream helps to not only calm the skin instantly, but over time it helps to reduce redness. Use this for 4 weeks or more and you'll notice a difference to your skintone.
It contains their Thermal Spring Water, Neurosensine which helps reduce redness and Ambophenol which helps to reduce the size of blood vessels.
If redness is an issue for you, then also use this in conjunction with the Thermal Spring Water. For instant cooling, keep yours in the fridge. Not only is it refreshing, it can help to disguise redness and acts as a 2 in 1 toner.
Apply this in both the morning and the evening for the best results.
This retails for $35.95 for 40ml.
When using anti redness products, always make sure you apply sunscreen to protect your skin. You don't want to undo all the hard work the products are doing. LRP have 2 facial sunscreens (both SPF50+) and a SPF30+ body sunscreen.

Ooh I've been trialing the Toleraine Dermo Cleanser for the past week and I love it! Perfect for sensitive skin, it leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean, and it doesn't cause any irritation or oiliness. So amazing!
