These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things... October Favourites 2013

Last month I didn't get around to doing my favourites, so this post is a mixture of my favourites from September and October.

Skincare

Nude By Nature Nude Oil*

This antioxidant face oil is packed with so many amazing natural ingredients that helps to calm and soothe the skin, repairs the skin and is full of vitamin C. It's light on the skin and can be used on both the face and body.

The best part is that it's under $20!

I've reviewed it here.

Biore Blemish Clearing Scrub*

I've been a huge fan of Biore products for many years. This is their new scrub and it's amazing! Both my husband and I have been using it a couple of times a week and it's lasted for 2 months.

It's a great scrub that isn't too harsh and it also contains ingredients to fight blemishes.

It's a really great inexpensive scrub that I'll be purchasing once this one has been used.

Pevonia Combination Skin Cream*

This moisturiser is from the Your Skincare Solution Combination Skin Kit. I was sent this to try as I was unsure if I was going to purchase the sensitive range (which I've previously trialled, and reviewed here) or if the combination range would be better for the warmer weather. My skin has previously been more on the combination side in the warmer weather, but as I'm getting older I was worried that it wouldn't give enough moisture to my skin.

I was really impressed with the Combination skin range. It's really soft on my skin and I never felt like it was too harsh or drying.

The stand out product in the range is the moisturiser. It's the best moisturiser that I've ever tried. It's the perfect mixture of enough moisture to leave my skin feeling hydrated, but not heavy enough that it makes my skin break out.

I'm really unsure which range I'll get because I adore the Sensitive cleanser and toner... but there's just something incredible about the moisturiser. The lines aren't supposed to be mixed, so I'm really not sure which range to stick with.

ModelCo Daily Face Mattifying Sunscreen and Lip Balm SPF50

I never go a day without applying sunscreen and this sunscreen has been my on my face every day for the last few weeks. It's a fantastic sunscreen option for those that find most sunscreens greasy.

It has SPF50 and protects you from both UVA and UVB rays.

It has a slight tint, but won't impact your foundation.
It also has lip balm in the lid. It's a great product to have in your handbag or beach bag.

Neutrogena Beach Defence Sunscreen*

I use this sunscreen on my body but I haven't tried it on my face as I'm afraid of it making me break out.
Its lightweight formula sinks into your skin really quickly and easily and it doesn't feel oily or heavy. You can apply this in the morning and straight away get dressed.
It doesn't have that chemical sunscreen scent like a lot of sunscreens have. It's a light scent, that isn't too floral or too sweet.

Pevonia Renewing Glycocides Cream*

I use this cream as a night cream every second night. It helps to remove dry and dead skin while you sleep. It contains hyaluronic acid, which is an amazing ingredient for  hydrating the skin. It also helps to unclog pores and even skintone.

I've noticed this has made my skin glow. I didn't use it for a week and noticed that my skin just looked lackluster. The night after using it, my skin looked so much better. While it's a pricey cream, it's worth every single cent!

I've reviewed it here.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo*

This has been hyped up all over the blogging world, and sometimes that can mean that you have extremely high expectation and end up disappointed that it wasn't the be all and end all product that everyone raved about.
Luckily for me, this lived up to the hype. The formula is nice and light and helps not only reduce existing pimples, but also stop upcoming ones. I don't use it every day, just when I am breaking out.

I've reviewed it here.

Make Up

Max Factor The Wild Collection*

I am OBSESSED with the new Max Factor range. The Shadow Pots are so incredibly beautiful. They work well by themselves or over the Shadow Pencil. There's 10 colours available and I have 5 of them. I'll be going back to Priceline to get the other colours as they are having $7 off MF eyes and lips from tomorrow (7th November, 2013).

My favourite colours in the Shadow Pencil are "Fierce Lime" by itself and "Untamed Pink" underneath the "Burnt Bark" Shadow Pot.

I've reviewed them here.

Max Factor
CC Cream

This is the first (and only) CC cream that I've used and it's AMAZING. I love using this as a skin perfecting base either by itself or underneath mineral foundation. It helps to even out my skintone, but it's light and looks natural.

I've reviewed it here.

Burt's Bees 100% Natural Lip Shine in "Pucker"*

This is such a fantastic everyday lipgloss. It's pigmented so it gives your lips a gorgeous colour, but doesn't need a lot of upkeep. It's really moisturising, but isn't sticky or goopy.

I've reviewed it here.

Nivea Lip Butter in "Vanilla and Macadamia"

I was late on the bandwagon, but I absolutely love these. The texture is great and it's long lasting.

The only thing that I would change is the packaging, as I hate putting my finger into a tub.

Hair

bhave Rescue Intense Shampoo and Conditioner*

This duo is amazing. It leaves my hair feeling soft, smooth and relatively frizz free. I've had these for about 3 months and still haven't finished them. They're pricey, but worth it. If you're on a budget then alternate washes with an inexpensive shampoo and conditioner to make them last longer.

I've reviewed them here

bhave Deep Intense Conditioning Masque*

To get the best results I like to use this hair mask for 20-30 minutes 2-3 times a month. I wash my hair with shampoo, then step out of the shower and towel dry my hair. I apply the hair mask and will eat breakfast/check emails/do the dishes. After it's had enough time to sink in, I then wash it out, apply conditioner for 3-5 minutes then wash it out. I'm left with soft detangled hair.

I prefer to use it for the 20-30 minutes to get the full effects since it's a pricier mask. I keep my inexpensive masks for the mornings that I'm in a hurry and only have a few minutes to wash and condition my hair.

I've reviewed it here.

Royal Moroccan Serum Treatment*

This has been in my last 2 favourites posts and it appears again!

This is one of the best hair oils that I've ever used. It's affordable, isn't too heavy and leaves my blonde hair shiny (not greasy).
I have the old packaging. Recently they changed it.

Here's the new packaging.

David Babaii Miracle Elixir Nourishing Oil Spray

When David Babaii first released this, it was an oil with a pump applicator. I really loved it and wasn't sure how if I would like it in a spray.

Luckily the spray version is even more amazing than the original formula. I love that I can get soft, hydrated hair quickly and easily. It's so lightweight that I can use it for 3-4 days without it weighing down my hair or making it feel oily.

I use this as a pre and post spray. I like to use the David Babaii "Blow Out Spray" and then spray a small amount of this before blow drying. I also like to use this after washing my hair and letting it airdry.

David Babaii Blow Out Spray*

This bottle does so many amazing things all in one spray.

I use it to protect my hair from hot tools, it also helps to reduce drying time and I've found that it gives my hair so much volume and body that it looks like I've put in extensions.

It's a beautiful mist that coats the hair quickly.

Don't let the name "Blow Out Spray" make you think it's just for blow drying your hair. I also spray it onto my hair before using a curling wand to provide protection.

What have been your favourite products lately?

  3. I'm using the ModelCo face sunscreen but I find it super dark on my skin for some reason so I have to mix it in my moisturiser. I love the MF shadow sticks too!
