Here's my second part of the products that stole my heart in 2013. You can see part one here where I talked about my favourite brushes, hair and body products.
The Jojoba Company 100% Natural Ultimate Jojoba Youth Potion*
This is a life changing product that not only makes a huge difference in the look of your skin but also the texture. It's not technically an oil, but it feels like one. It's a wax ester that naturally occurs in our skin but decreases over time. Jojoba is like a superfood for your skin.
It has a beautiful floral scent that I just adore. If you haven't tried this before, then make sure it's something that you try in 2014.
I've previously reviewed it here.
Pevonia Renewing Glycocides Cream*
This is really an amazing night cream that gives you smoother, softer and brighter skin. I use this every 2nd or 3rd night (depending on how tired I am and how my skin is looking and feeling at the time). I've been using this for months and still have over half of the bottle left. I don't think that I can live without this anymore.
You can read a first impressions review here.
Australis Tint My Brow*
I purchased this with my Priceline giftcard (you can see what else I bought here) and have barely touched any brow products since. It's really easy and quick to use and is great for anyone that is new to using brow products.
It looks really natural and lasts allllll day (which is perfect for the Australian summer). Just make sure that you apply it with a light hand and remove any excess tint from the brush before applying (similar to removing excess mascara from the wand so it doesn't apply on goopy).
Pevonia Hydrating Sunscreen SPF30*
I've been using this sunscreen for a while now and it's pure perfection. It helps to protect me from the sun, but doesn't make me look or feel oily and shiny. It sinks into the skin quickly and easily.
I love the packaging and know that this would be safe in my beach bag.
Max Factor Wild Shadow Pots*
I haven't used a lot of Max Factor products, but the 3 ones that I have used I've loved. The shadow pots are without a doubt my favourite. The quality of the shadows are great, the colour range is beautiful and they're so affordable too!
I've posted swatches of the shadow pencils and shadow pots here.
Dr LeWinn's 4 Fusion Cleansing Oil
This is my holy grail oil cleanser. It works amazingly, doesn't contain mineral oil and smells incredible. I was sent this as a PR sample, but have since bought my own as they last ages and are very affordable. I use this most nights to remove my make up, unless I'm too tired and will use a micellar water.
I've previously reviewed it here.
Nude By Nature Pressed Eye Shadow Palette in "Ultimate Nude"*
I've mentioned this quite a few times, but have never reviewed it with swatches. It's a great mini palette with 3 matte shades. I'm not normally a fan of matte shades, but this palette changed that. The colours can create a beautiful yet simple smokey eye and I use the 2nd colour as an eyebrow shadow when I'm travelling or can't find a brow pencil/tint.
Uriage Thermal Water Spray*
This is the second bottle that I've used and I adore it. It makes the perfect toner to help cool down your skin, settle redness and prepare it for a serum. It can also be used to help heal sunburn or even set your make up. I used to love the Avene Thermal Spray, but would choose this over the Avene spray.
Mirenesse Marble Mineral Blush in "Rose Diamond"
This baked mineral blush is one of my top 2 blushes that I reach for (the other is my ELES blush). It's a gorgeous pink colour that also has sheen in it and it makes your cheeks pop and look radiant. I don't need to apply a highlighter when I wear this. It lasts all day and still looks perfect after 3pm.
Covergirl 3-in-1 Foundation
I heard so many amazing things about this from bloggers and vloggers before I bought this, but I was still so impressed with it.
It's a medium coverage foundation that lasts all day. It's a great budget buy (under $20) and the colour range is fantastic for a "drugstore" foundation. Even though it has a primer in the formula, I always apply a primer underneath so my make up looks flawless all day.
Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadow
I have 2 colours but want more since they're fantastic eyeshadows... and so inexpensive. "Chocolate Jewellery"* is a gorgeous dark brown that's surprisingly natural even though it's a shimmer colour. "Frosted Apple" is a glittery pink with golden tones. It's a gorgeous colour, but I find I tend to use Chocolate Jewellery more often since it's more of a neutral colour.
Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent Powder
This is the second time that I've purchased this and I'm sure I'll be purchasing many more in the future. This pressed powder is perfect for keeping my foundation looking matte.
I love that it's inexpensive, yet such a quality product.
ELES Blush in "Coral Sun"
This is the other blush that I've been wearing. It's a gorgeous colour that isn't too pink or too peach. It's a universal colour that will suit any complexion.
While the blush is much smaller than my Mirenesse one, it's highly pigmented and you can hardly see that it's been used even though I've been wearing it 4 or more times a week for the last for the last 5 months.
I've previously reviewed this here.
Here are some other products that came very very close to being on the list...
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
Max Factor Shadow Pencil*
ELES Signature Quad*
Skin Physics Pore Away Mattifying Base Primer*
Biore Blemish Clearing Scrub*
DMK Solar Gel*
DMK Deep Pore Pure Cleanser
Pevonia Sensitive Skin Cleanser*
Pevonia Sensitive Skin Lotion*
Pevonia Balancing Combination Cream*
Revitanail Conditioning Remover Wipes*
And those are my favourites of 2013. Do you think that I missed anything?

Great post! I can totally agree with the Nude By Nature palette being amazing! I got it in a Christmas special pack (it was on sale for about $13 and it included 2 other products - definitely a bargain I wasn't going to pass up!) and since then I have been using it almost every day. I love it! X
ReplyDeleteI do like the nude palette, but it's kinda pricey ...
ReplyDeleteI love the ELES blush too, I think its my most frequently used makeup product!!
