Beauty On A Budget: Models Prefer Brushes

If I had $100, I'd prefer to buy expensive brushes rather than expensive make up. If you've ever used a Hakuhodo brush (or similar) you know what a difference it makes to your make up application and final look.

But not everyone has $100 to spend on a single brush, so it's always a good idea to have inexpensive options too.

While most people would suggest Real Techniques and EcoTools for inexpensive options, I don't hear a lot of buzz about Models Prefer brushes.

I really love the "Professional" range (they also have another line of brushes that are black and are cheaper than the Professional range). The brushes are inexpensive, with the brushes ranging from $13.99 to $22.99. 

Here are some of the brushes that I own from the range.

I don't use smudge brushes often, so spending $30-$40 on a brush isn't worth it. 

It's a great brush for blending out eyeshadow on my lash line. It's not too harsh but the bristles are still firm enough to disperse the eyeshadow.

This brush retails for $14.99 and is made from pony hair. 

I bought this Cream Shadow Brush to use with my Maybelline Color Tattoos, as sometimes fingers just don't give a even and smoked out look.

It's really soft and is easy to use. I will normally only use it once before washing it, so the bristles don't get clogged with different cream shadow colours. I'll be picking up 2 more of these brushes next time they're on sale.  

This retails for $15.95 and is made from nylon. 

I can't stress the importances of a clean blending brush. If you keep using the same one day after day, you'll notice that it won't blend the colour as efficiently or effectively.

I prefer to splash out on blending brushes since I use them every day, but I love using this inexpensive option too. It can be used also for contouring places like the nose or smudging out blush or bronzer lines. 

This Eye Crease Brush retails for $14.99 and is made from goat hair.

A fan brush is something that I don't use often, but is a great tool to have. 

As you can tell from the photo, I already own a fan brush. I really love the Furless brush, but it's quite large and fluffy and isn't great for fine detail. 

The MP brush is smaller, thinner and lighter. It's just as soft as the Furless brush.

I can't remember how much I bought this for, but I want to say it was under $10.

I also own more of their brushes but will do another review on them as they're all face brushes and deserve an indepth review.

Quite a lot of these brushes were bought on sale. Either at 50% off or as apart of a B2GOF deal, which made them much more affordable when you're on a budget. They're available only from Priceline.
