Trash Or Treasure: April 2013 Empties

Sunday, 25 May 2014

It's been a LONNNNNNNNG time since I've posted an empties post, but like a beauty hoarder I've been keeping all of my empty packaging to show you.

Here's some of the products that I've used up...

Skincare

People For Plants Foaming Cleansing Gel*

This is a beautiful gel cleanser that doesn't make me feel dry or itchy. It's affordable at only $24.95 for 120ml.

People For Plants is a certified organic and cruelty free brand. They also don't use p
arabens, sulphates, synthetic fragrances, artificial colours, petrochemicals, silicones or genetically modified organisms (GMO's).

Will I repurchase? Although I liked it, I most likely won't.

L'Oreal Youth Code Day Serum

This is the second tub that I've bought, and I have to admit I liked it better the first time. I'm not sure if they changed the formula since the launch, but it just didn't wow me like it did originally.

Will I repurchase? No

L'Oreal Youth Code Serum

I'm obsessed with the L'Oreal Youth Code Luminosity Serum, so this had big shoes to fill. While it was a lovely product, the Luminosity Serum gave me better results and felt nicer on my skin.

Will I repurchase? No

Pevonia Soothing Propolis Concentrate*

I love Pevonia products and this was another winner. I used this as my serum and it helps to relieve red and sensitive skin. It's really lightweight and calming on the skin.

The packaging is simple but beautiful and luxe. Pevonia are on the higher end when it comes to price, but their products are really beautiful and most importantly, they work!

Will I repurchase? Yes.... As long as I had the money to, as it's $118 for 30ml.

Antipodes Grapeseed Butter Cleanser

Ahhhh it was love at first use. This is a balm/butter cleanser that I use to remove my make up and follow up with my normal cleanser.

Sadly my hubby used half of this thinking it was for his body, so I went through it quite quickly.

I've previously reviewed it here.

Will I repurchase? YES!!!

Happy Skincare Cloud 9 Deep Cleansing Balm

This is a sample size that I bought in their 4 piece trial set (see it here). I adore the feeling of this. It feels like whipped cream.

I used this to remove my make up before using a cleanser to clean my face.

Will I repurchase? YES!!!

Baji Rose Kakadu Plum Face Mist

I used this as a toner. It worked nicely, and I love that it's a spray. It didn't impress me enough to repurchase it.

Will I repurchase? No

Haircare
Head & Shoulders Itchy Scalp Care Shampoo

This is one of the many samples that I have from various beauty boxes. It works well and didn't dry out my hair.

Will I repurchase? If I'm suffering from dandruff, yes

bHave Rescue Intense Repair Shampoo and Conditioner* (travel size)

I'm a HUGE fan of bHave. Their products are amazing, especially this duo. Since using these, my hair has dramatically improved. I can "wash and go" using this duo. I use the shampoo and conditioner, pop in a little bit of leave in conditioning spray, leave it to airdry and my hair will look like it's been blow dried. It looks and feels so soft and frizz free.

Will I repurchase? Always and forever! They're totally holy grail status!

Toni&Guy Cleanse Dry Shampoo

This is a repurchase. I love the T&G dry shampoo. It's a bit more expensive than other brands, but I always stock up when I see it on sale.

It works quickly and doesn't make my hair feel heavy or gross, even when I've been using it for 2 or 3 times between washes.

Will I repurchase? Yes

Tresemme Split Remedy Leave In Conditioning Spray

I really like this leave in conditioning spray. It helps to give my hair more moisture without making it feel oily or heavy.

Will I repurchase? Yes

Aveeno Stress Relief Body Wash

This is my second bottle. It's a gorgeous body wash that I like to use at night to help relax me and make me fall asleep quickly.

I've previously reviewed this here

Will I repurchase? Yes

Nivea Double Effect deodorant

Even though I seem to buy a lot of spray deodorants, I really don't like them. They're easy to use, but I always seem to end up coughing from the fumes.

Will I repurchase? No

Nivea In Shower Rich Body Lotion Skin Conditioner

I really love this in shower body lotion. I can apply it onto my body and skip using a moisturiser after getting out of the shower.

This version is heavier than the other two versions.

I've previously reviewed this here

Will I repurchase? I already have!

Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturiser for Dry Skin Repair

I bought this after reading quite a few reviews of it. I like the idea of it, as it's easy and quick to use. One negative is the fact that it feels really cool on your body, especially in the morning. I like that there's 3 version for different skin types and needs.

Will I repurchase? I'd most likely buy the aloe vera version next.

I do have more empties to blog about but my daughter thought that it would be fun to make a snake with the empty bottles. All was well until she wanted to use the products that I was trying to photograph. I ended up giving up as I was spending more time trying to protect them from being snatched than actually taking photos!! She takes after me with her love of beauty products :)

Are you the kind of person who keeps their empties to blog about?

  2. At $25 I wouldn't say that cleaner is affordable, as there are so many gel cleansers that are cheap, though as it's organic I'm not sure of what the organic cleansers market comparisons.

I do love Cloud 9! Smells like some amazing food. Hopefully they change their packaging to a tube in the future.

    1. Hahahaha Charlie, you're right. I guess when you spend $67 on your holy grail cleanser, $25 seems like a bargain ;)
