These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things: November 2014 Favourites

Wednesday, 3 December 2014

Hi Lovelies,

Sorry for the lack of posts recently. I've been sick and blogging has been way down on the list, sadly.

But I'm back today with my favourites from November. Like last month's favourites (which you can see here), I've found a LOT of new products that I have fallen in love with.

Here's what I've been adoring in November...

Skincare

LÓreal Skin Perfection Concentrated Correcting Serum

I had heard a lot about this on youTube, but all of the people raving about it had used it for less than 2 weeks, so it was difficult to be able to really hear about long term results.

I saw this on sale for $15 in Coles and ended up picking up to try it out for myself.

I haven't seen a huge difference in my skin, but I have only been using it for the last 3 or so weeks. But it has made its way into my favourites because of its consistency and lightweight feeling. It works well underneath make up and helps give my skin a natural glow.

People For Plants Mist Toner

This is the second time that I've bought this. It's a gorgeous, lightweight mist that I use as a toner. You can also use it as a make up spray, to help get rid of excess powder.

It contains rose otto, kakadu plum and burdock to help soothe, brighten and energise your skin.

Bespoque "Bottled Beauty Booster" Moisturiser*

This Bespoque moisturiser was actually (in part) designed by me. All you need to do is go onto their website here, answer some easy questions about your skin and what you want out of a moisturiser and they will create a moisturiser that's based on your answers!! It's genius!

Because I deal with pigmentation and uneven skintone, those were on the top of my list of things that I wanted in a moisturiser.

You can also have it fragrance free if you worry about sensitivity or include a scent if you love sweet smelling skincare.

You can also name the product, as well as choosing the colour that the packaging has.

I'll be posting a review very soon on this.

Mecca Cosmetica Lip De-Luscious Overnight Lip Conditioner

I've mentioned this a few times on the blog (most recently in my lip balm post here) and it's because this is my favourite lip balm. While it's an overnight balm, I still use this in the day if my lips are feeling extra dry.

I've just finished my jar and as much as I don't want to spend $32 on a lip balm, I'll have to suck it up because I can't live without it!

Sanctuary Spa Body Butter

This is a deluxe travel size and it was love at first use. It's a thick body butter that is still lightweight and easy to rub into the skin. It has a smell that is somehow familiar, but I can't place why it smells familiar.

Priceline have Sanctuary Spa on sale from tomorrow, so I'll be picking up a full size one as I just finished this this morning.

Natio Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes

I try not to use wipes very often, but have been using these every day to remove my mascara. They live up to their name as they're very gentle and don't irritate my eyes.

Make Up

W3ll People Altruist 11 Mineral Foundation in "Fair Pink"

I like to wear mineral foundation on my days off and this one is amazing!! It was love at first use.

I bought this from the Natural Supply Co (see my haul here) and I'm so glad that I did. It leaves my skin looking healthy, more even toned and it glows without looking oily.

After using this, I now want to buy more W3ll People products.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

I used to be obsessed with this foundation and wore it everyday. Because I'm fickle, I stopped using it to try other foundations. After using it again this month I have no idea why I stopped to begin with!

I purchased this when Priceline had their 40% off cosmetics sale (see the haul here) and I'm kicking myself for not picking up two!!

I love how lightweight it feels, while still being able to hide my imperfections. It's a gorgeous summer foundation.

Max Factor Colour Elixir Gloss in "Luxurious Berry"* and "Polished Fuchsia"*

Max Factor has been killing it with their releases over the last year. It started with "The Wild Collection" (seen here), followed by their CC Cream (seen here) and now with their newest lip glosses.

There are 5 colours available and I love how moisturising they feel, without being heavy, goopy or boring. They give a gorgeous shine and subtle colour to your lips.

I've been using these while I'm at work so I look like I've put in some effort into my look, without having to have the upkeep of a lipstick.

Mary Kay Nourishine Plus Lip Gloss in "Berry Tart"*

I've had these for quite a few months now and have previously reviewed them here. They remind me of the Max Factor glosses as they're perfect for work.

They nourish my lips and leave them feeling comfortable for hours. I also get some colour and gloss on my lips and it makes me feel more put together than using just a plain lip balm.

Max Factor Masterpiece Transform High Impact Volumising Mascara

This came with last months Marie Claire magazine and it straight away became a holy grail.

It helps to give my lashes more volume, impact and is one of the few mascaras that doesn't give me panda eyes by lunch time.

Kate from Seduced By Beauty is also a fan of it (she included it in her last months favourites here) and has declared it her holy grail mascara. It even has made her stop using the Benefit "They're Real" Mascara as it works just as well and is much more affordable.

Model Co Miracle Veil Skin Correcting Primer

I love that this primer helps to neutralise my redness (as it's green based) and also doesn't have a silicone feeling. It helps to keep my make up looking good all day, which will be a big feat considering that it's starting to get very, very hot here in Adelaide.

Nude By Nature Liquid Mineral Concealer

Concealer is a product that I don't use often. It's not that I don't need it... trust me my eye bags need a lot of help... it's just that I seem to forget to use it!

But lately I haven't been sleeping well and this concealer has made my eyes look much more well rested than they are! It's lightweight, glowy and doesn't leave eye crinkles unlike some other concealers.

Essence Me & My Icecream Cream Blush in "Ice Bomb"

I bought this a while ago and have only really recently been using it. It's a gorgeous peach colour that's perfect for the summer weather. It's quite pigmented, so a little bit goes a long way.

ELES Mineral Blush in Coral Sun*

I've been using this for a year and a half now and it still barely looks used. This blush is super pigmented, so you only need a very small amount.

It's a gorgeous peachy pink that helps give a glow to my face, which has been a lifesaver on those days where I'm feeling sick but have had to work.

You can see swatches of it here

LÓreal Color Riche LÓmbre Pure in "Cafe Saint Germain"

These eyeshadows were being raved about earlier in the year from US and UK bloggers... and we know how that can go. Either you'll also fall in love or be disappointed and think they were overhyped (hello Rimmel Apocalips).

Luckily these are wonderful. They're very similar to the L'Oreal Infallible eyeshadows in the fact that they're smooth to apply and provide a gorgeous colour.

I find that these give the illusion that I've put in more effort than I actually have. They're expensive ($20 per shadow here in Australia), but are worth the money if you can find them on sale.

Hair

GHD Air Professional Hair Dryer*

Once you use professional hair products, it's hard to go back. Yes, they're more pricier but you notice long lasting results.

I used to have a Remington hair dryer that did that job, but it didn't leave my hair looking like it does when I get a blow dry from the salon.

Recently I've been using the GHD Air Professional Hair Dryer and have been blown away by it (yep... I couldn't help myself with that pun!).

This is the Rose Gold version, which is available for Christmas. There are so many amazing things about this hair dryer, but my favourite 2 features has to be how quiet it is (which is so important when you're trying not to wake up the rest of the house) and just how quickly it dries my hair.

I'm trying to grow my hair as long as it can, and while it's satisfying seeing longer hair, it's a pain to wash and blow dry twice a week (especially when you're in a hurry). So a hair dryer that dries my hair quickly makes it easier to get ready and also means I'm having heat on my hair for less time.

I'll be doing a more in-depth review in the next week.

muk. Deep Muk 1 Minute Ultra Soft Treatment

While I love using my bHave and Kevin.Murphy hair masks, I also like to have a quick hair mask for those busy mornings. This works in as little as 1 minute so it's perfect for anyone who's time poor.

It leaves my hair feeling healthy, soft and looking lovely.

Nails

Kitty Got Claws by Deana Sarwari Nail Polish in "Shimmy Shimmy"* and "Day Dreamer"*

I'm one of those beauty bloggers that has no problems doing 800 steps in primping my hair, skin and make up but I ALWAYS neglect my nails.

So I'm setting myself a challenge to learn nail art (which I'll share on the blog) and I started by doing a simple two toned nail design using these Kitty Got Claws nail polishes.

Deana created these polishes because she was having an issue finding polishes that were cruelty free, safe for the environment, stain free, long lasting and free of chemicals.

Deana has a fantastic instagram where she showcases her beautiful range of polishes. If you're a nail polish lover, then you need to follow her here.

Manicare Nail File

Nail Files to me are the "bobby pin" of the nail world... they're always disappearing!!!

These Manicare nail files are fantastic as they're only $1.95 from Chemist Warehouse and Priceline. They're so inexpensive that you can have one in every room of the house!

I love their funky designs too!!

And those are the products that I've been loving last month. Have you tried any of these?
Amy, XO

    1. The polishes are fantastic. I have 3 colours and a top coat and I now want more colours. I'm adoring Diamonds Are Girls Best Friend and Blue Blood.

  3. What a comprehensive list! I'm still planning to get my hands on the Mecca overnight lip treatment - as it was sold out the last time in Mecca I bought a jar of Philosophy balm to try in the meantime. Interesting to see your Max Factor favourites because I feel like the brand's been largely overlooked and I'm guilty of overlooking it myself. I might use your list as a guide of MF things to try :)

Sorry to hear you've been unwell - hope everything's getting back up to speed for you now! xo
