Beauty Bites #6: My Weekly Beauty Wrap Up

Sunday, 14 June 2015

This week started with me being sick and wearing no make up but as the week progressed I started to wear make up again.

Here's what I've been using and loving this week...

My Most Worn Beauty Products...

As I've been trying to use up some of my stash I came across the Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder. When I first used this I wasn't a fan, but weirdly enough I really like it now. It helps to blot out any oil without making my skin look flat. I'm not sure if it's because my skin has changed since the last time that I used it, but I've really fallen in love with it. Just a tip, it can go on quite heavy so use a tulip brush to apply it (like this one) so you don't go overboard and look chalky.

If you're looking for a subtle but gorgeous blush then check out the Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in "Lovely Pink." I love that I can make it subtle, especially if I'm dealing with a lot of redness on my cheeks. I really love this and will be picking up the other 2 colours that I don't have. They're a bit pricey ($21.95), so I'm going to wait until the next Priceline 40% off make up day to get them.

Whenever I get sick, my lips always go yukky and flakey so I've skipped the lipstick and have stuck to the ModelCo Shine Ultra Lipgloss in "Miami Sunset." I'm a huge fan of ModelCo's lipglosses as they give an amazing shine, actually last longer than 5 minutes and they don't feel goopy or sticky.

I try to let my hair air dry but in winter I'm normally forced to use a hairdryer. Normally it takes ages, but since I've been using the Moroccanoil Ceramic Round Barrel Brush (Medium 35mm)* that I got in a Moroccanoil pack here, it takes me less than half the time. I've also been using the brush on my daughters hair as her hair used to take me 20-30 minutes to detangle and dry, but now its only about 10-15 minutes.

I finished up a hair oil last week and have gone back to using my half opened Kevin.Murphy Young.Again Immortelle Infused Treatment Oil.* I really love that this oil is light on my hair, but still packs a lot of moisture. It doesn't look or feel greasy either.

To get my hair smooth and hydrated, I've also been using the ELEVEN Australia Miracle Hair Treatment.* This is a cream, so I apply this after using the KM oil.

I've finished my toner and started using the Bioderma Hydrabio Moisturising Toning Lotion.* Normally I'm not a huge fan of lotion toners as I find mists much easier to use, but I'm really loving this toner. It helps to reduce any redness and calms my skin quickly. I wish they had this in a mist formula.

And finally I'm loving this 3 Wishes Candle Barn Blueberry Muffin Candle. Sadly they've discontinued this fragrance, but they've got some amazing scents. They hand pour them here in the Adelaide Hills up at Hahndorf. I've bought a Coconut & Pine-Lime candle, a Watermelon candle and also picked up some of their handmade soaps. If you're in Hahndorf go check them out, otherwise you can purchase from them online here too. They even have a Chanel no. 5 scented candle!!

Disappointing Products...

The Revlon Nearly Nude Pressed Powder seems to have somehow gotten more darker/orange on my skintone (or maybe I'm just paler) so I've had to throw it out.

Best Sale

Woolworths has 2 Batiste 200ml dry shampoo's for $14 (save $6). I picked up 2 today!

What I'm lusting after...

A new cleanser! I'm thinking of picking up the Grown Alchemist Gentle Gel Facial Cleanser. Priceline need to have their 40% off skincare asap!

My favourite youtube or blogger...

I'm a huge fan of Allana Davison. She's the type of girl that you'd have so much fun shopping with. She's funny, has a great mix of videos and she always looks so polished!

On my mind...

When will I ever get to sleep again!! I swear my little ones are allergic to it.

Have you been obsessed with anything lately?

  1. You have some great picks here! I've been looking for a subtle blusher and some of the ones I've tried before have been really pink! I'm definitely going to be looking out for the Max factor creme you've mentioned here so thanks for sharing :)

  2. Great picks indeed. So lots of great products that i would also like to try out. I am eyeing on that Moroccanoil Ceramic Round Barrel Brush . I am also having a hard time to detangle my daughter's hair and I think this would make the job easy.
