Beauty Bites #7: My Weekly Beauty Wrap Up

The last few days have been chaotic with trips to Ikea, Carpet Court, a playdate and getting a friend to check out our house to knock down a wall as well as the usual craziness of everyday life so this post is a few days late. I had 95% of it finished, but just getting 15 minutes to sit down to finish the post has taken 5 long days!! When it rains (chaos) it pours!!

Last week was filled with saying goodbye to some amazing products as well as buying (and being gifted) some new goodies.

Here's what's rocking my world this week...

My most worn beauty products...

As I'm going through my stash to find what to put in my new Z palette I came across the Face Of Australia Glamazon Blush & Highlighting Kit in "Minx." When I first got this I liked it, but never really loved it. But this week it's been the only thing that I've been using on my cheeks. I like that it has the blush and highlighter together, so I'm not having to reach for separate ones. I've previously reviewed it here.

If you're looking for a setting powder that helps to mattify without looking flat then the Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder is your man. I really like that it gives me a small bit of extra coverage over my bb cream.

I always struggle to find a mascara that doesn't smudge on me but I've been really surprised with the Physicians Formula Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin FakeOut Mascara. This came in the last free Priceline make up goodie bag (this one) and I'm going to have to pick up another mascara once this runs out.

I'm all about pre-wash hair treatments at the moment and the Hair & Me Hair Rejuvenation Treatment that came in my Violet Box here is awesome! It's a natural hair treatment that contains just 4 ingredients. I'm hooked on using this!

I seem to go in phases when it comes to body exfoliation. But after using the Fake Bake Passion Fruit Body Polish* I'll never want to skip exfoliating again!! It has the most incredible passion fruit scent. It's a light exfoliator that would suit people with dry and normal skin. I wish they had a matching body lotion in this scent!

And finally, I've been using the Grown Alchemist Watermelon & Vanilla Lip Balm so much that I'm nearly out of it!! I'll be picking up another one tomorrow as I can't live without it.

Empties...

It's been a huge week when it comes to finishing products. Normally I'd be sad to finish so many at the same time, but because I'm currently consolidating my stash its made me happy to finish so many things.

I've finished quite a few hair products last week. Three products that I'll be repurchasing are the Charles Worthington Intense Rescue Melting Balm,* OGX Nourishing Coconut Milk Leave In Nourishing Milk and the Wella SP LuxeOil Keratin Boost Essence.* I also finished the L'Oreal EverSleek Precious Oil, and while I liked it I don't love it enough to repurchase it.

I finished the Josie Maran Argan Creamy Oil Cleansing Treatment and I was feeling glad that I had finally finished this. It was such a disappointing product. I found it quite thick and even though I would do a follow up cleanse I could still feel the balm on my skin. At $58 here in Australia (which also included a wash cloth) I wouldn't recommend it!

I also finished the Coast To Coast Skin Radiance Aqua Mist* which is a lovely toner. I'm stocked up on toner at the moment so I won't be repurchasing it any time soon, but am interested in trying out their Ultra Soothing Aqua Mist when I need a new toner.

And finally I finished up my Weleda Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Body Lotion.* This one smells amazing. It's a citrus scent that was lovely to use in the morning. It's quite light so I won't repurchase one for winter, but will head into David Jones in the spring to pick one up.

Disappointing products...

I bought this the other week in my Adore Beauty haul here and it pains me to say it, but I'm really not liking the Evo Day Of Grace Leave-In Conditioner. I really want to like this as I love Evo as a brand but this leave in conditioner just doesn't moisturise my hair or help get out tangles (which is what I bought it for). All it does is wet my hair and even sometimes it makes my hair feel even drier and rougher.

It's $25.95, so it's a bit pricey for a leave in conditioner and it makes me sad that it's a product that I'll end up not using at all.

Best Sale...

It has to be the Priceline free skincare goodie bag. You get it for free when you spend $69 or more on selected skincare brands. The goodie bag is worth over $400!! Get in quick. Find out more about it here.

What I'm lusting after...

This new limited edition set from Nude By Nature which contains their new pressed foundation, the loose mineral foundation and a brush.

My favourite youtuber or blogger...

I came across Jamie-Lee's youtube channel when I was searching for Charlotte Tilbury reviews. I instantly subscribed to her channel as I love her mix of high end and drugstore. Her reviews on the products are great as she includes everything I need to know.

On my mind...

Should we pick white curtains and charcoal carpet or charcoal curtains and white carpet... the life of an adult is so boring!!

  1. The Hair & ME treatment sounds o good. I really wanna try the Bourjois powder but I am afraid they will not have the right shade for me.

  3. Sad that the Evo Day of Grace Leave-In Conditioner didn't work for you either. I was hoping I was the only one who didn't like it (I had the same problems as you with it - it didn't really detangle my hair & it left it feeling rather dry), but alas it's probably another over-priced & crappy product.

Oh & I reckon white curtains with charcoal carpet - that way if you spill something on the carpet, it's not so noticeable. ;o)

    1. I'm so disappointed in the evo spray :( I have some trial sizes of 3 of their products, so I hope that I have a bit more luck with them. At least their hair brushes are amazing!
