With all of the renovations we're doing to our house, I never posted a June favourites, so this is going to be a bumper version of my monthly favourites and empties. I've been really trying to use up more of my half used products and trying to downsize my stash. But of course I'm still buying new and shiny things!!
Here's some of the new and old things that I've been loving and using in June and July...
My most worn beauty products...
Skincare
After realising that my lovely Coast To Coast cleanser had salicylic acid in it and not being able to use it because I'm breastfeeding, I've gone back to using my holy grail cleanser. The Antipodes Juliet Brightening Gel Cleanser works so well and my skin always seems to have less breakouts when I use this. This is my 3rd bottle and my love affair with it hasn't lessened.
I normally wash my face with a cleansing oil or cleansing balm, but with everything so hectic I've been using the Coast To Coast Skin Illuminating Cleansing Water* nearly every night. I like the flat pump dispenser on this.
While I typically buy spray toners (like this ModelCo one here), I've really been impressed with the Bioderma Hydrabio Tonique Moisturising Toning Lotion.* It really helps to calm my skin and help with any redness from the warmth of the shower.
I ran out of my Grown lip balm and bought this pack as it has the lip balm as well as a deluxe sample day cream and hand cream for only $7 more. And from the very first use of the Grown Alchemist Hydra-Repair Day Cream: Camellia & Geranium I was in love. It feels slightly heavy as you're rubbing it in but surprisingly doesn't feel heavy or sticky. It also sinks in and works well under my make up.
I've been trying to look after my skin by using a face mask weekly and I'm loving using my Zk'in Brightening & Hydrating Masque.* I normally only leave it on for 5 minutes, but find it still works really well in a short amount of time. I've previously reviewed this here.
I couldn't live without my Mecca Cosmetica Lip De-Luscious Night Lip Treatment any longer, so caved in and bought my 3rd pot. At $32, it's expensive, but I love it too much to be without it. I've started storing my lip exfoliator in my shower and now have been using the BITE Beauty Whipped Cherry Fruit Scrub Exfoliant everyday and haven't had any issues with cracked or dry lips even though it's winter here in Oz.
Make Up
One of the new products that I've been using and loving has been two new products from Napoleon. I've been using the Napoleon Perdis Sateen Eyes Sculpting Eye Colour* as my base colour then I apply some Napoleon Perdis Radiant Reflections Eye Colour* to make my eyes sparkle! I've reviewed them here with swatches.
Max Factor have really been a stand out this year and I loved their last mascara. It instantly went into my holy grail list. Their newest mascara, the Max Factor Masterpiece Glamour Extensions 3 in 1 Volumising Mascara,* has really impressed me and has knocked the Masterpiece Transform High Impact Volumising Mascara from top of the list. If you're looking for something that gives you a false lash effect, try this! What I really love about it is the fact that the wand is very thin, so it's great for both getting very close to the lash line and not smudging my eye area like a large brush can.
Hair
I'm currently in the process of going very light blonde and had a full set of foils recently. In the lead up to it, I used the Hair&Me Hair Rejuvenation Treatment that I received in my Violet Box. My hairdresser was so impressed with how my hair was after the foils. I had no breakage at all and I credit this to using this pre-wash treatment.
Another product that I'm loving is my Michael Van Clarke 3 More Inches Large Paddle Brush. It contains a mixture of short and long bristles which help to both detangle and smooth my hair. You can read more about it here.
Empties...
I've been using lots of hair masks lately and have finished both my Charles Worthington Salon At Home Intense Rescue Melting Balm* as well as the Hair&Me Hair Rejuvenation Treatment. I've already picked up 2 more of the Charles Worthington balms from Priceline and once I've finished them I'll be ordering a few of the Hair&Me packs.
I've finished the Batiste Dry Shampoo in Neon Lights and while i like it, I won't repurchase this one. I really love the Seven Wonders Moroccan Argan Dry Shampoo and will go back to that once I've finished my current dry shampoo.
I also finished the Lush Yummy Mummy Body Conditioner* and the Lush Yummy Mummy Shower Gel.* I really loved these. If these are still available next time I go into Lush then I'll pick them up.
I also finished my Innoxa Skin Perfecting Foundation 5 in 1 BB Cream. I feel like this is more of a CC cream, rather than a BB Cream. It gives me a small amount of coverage without feeling heavy or being cakey. I wont buy this any time soon as I'm trying to go through my current foundations and BB creams but will pick one up in the future.
And those have been my current favourites! What have you been loving?
