Before motherhood, I had all the time in the world to spend on getting ready. But once you have children, suddenly you're not in charge of your own schedule. You have to adapt your routine around feeds, changing and (lack of) sleep.
Now that I'm a mum of 2 girls, I know all the tricks to getting out of the door while still looking put together.
Here are some of my must haves...
Make Up
When it comes to my base, I need something that's easy to apply and that's fuss free. I normally reach for my Innoxa Skin Perfecting Foundation 5 in 1 BB Cream when I'm rushing because I can apply it with my fingers and it gives a natural, light coverage. If I feel like I need more coverage I either apply a mineral foundation powder or a concealer.
When you're in a hurry, you need to reach for an eyeshadow palette and the one that I adore is the L'Oreal La Palette Nude in "Rose." It has a great mix of colours that work well on their own or together. The palette also comes with a mirror which is a lifesaver when you're trying to apply your make up while moving room to room getting everyone else ready.
If I'm in a huge rush then I'll only apply a highlighter but since buying the Rimmel Sculpting Palette by Kate Moss in "Coral Glow" I've now got enough time to apply highlighter, blush and contour because it's all in the one palette (I normally spend more time picking out what I want to wear than applying them!). Currently Australia only has one shade available, but in the UK they have 3 different palettes to suit different skintones.
The ModelCo More Brows is a tinted brow gel that's similar to the Benefit Gimme Brow. It has enough tint to darken and fill in my brows but because it's not too dark or heavy it's pretty fool proof.
While I love wearing lipstick, I sometimes don't want to deal with the upkeep of lipstick. I normally reach for the Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid because it's hydrating, long lasting and gives me glossy lips. The lemon oil in it also gentle exfoliates my lips so I don't have to worry about cracked or dry lips.
Skincare
One of my skincare must haves has to be a micellar water. I'm currently using the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water and it's perfect for those days when all you want to do is going straight to bed.
Hair
My hair is quite long now and it takes ages to wash it, so a dry shampoo is a must have. I really like the Kardashian Beauty Take 2 Dry Shampoo because it's lightweight, gets rid of oil and it also has a gorgeous scent. It's on the pricier side so I like to pick it up on sale from Priceline.
Body
Nappy changes mean lots of washing your hands, so I like to keep the Lanolips Lano Hands Lemon Hand Cream in my bathroom so I can apply it after each hand wash.
Most mornings are hectic, so I love using either the Lush Yummy Mummy Shower Cream* or the Jurlique Jasmine Shower Gel to add some luxury into a crazy morning.
Candle
I like to burn a candle in the afternoon to help relax me at night. Because it's Winter here, I like to burn sweeter smells like vanilla. On my wishlist is the new Circa Home Creme Brulee candle.
What are your daily essentials for when you're in a rush?

I'm not loving the L'Oreal La Palette! I don't know what I'm doing wrong - I use a primer and everything.
