It's nearly Mother's Day and Nude By Nature have knocked it out of the park with their 3 limited edition sets for Mother's Day. When I saw Kimberlie from I Shall Shop post about the Oval Brush Set, I knew that I had to have them!
Like all of Nude By Natures gift sets, they're packaged gorgeously. The outer cardboard packaging explains what the brushes are for. The inner packaging has a felt material holder to keep the brushes safe as well as plastic around the neck of the brushes. While the inner packaging is gorgeous, I don't know if it's practical and if people will keep the box.
There are 3 brushes in the pack. The large brush is recommended for powder and liquid foundations. The medium brush works well with highlighting, blush and contouring. And finally the small brush is great for concealer.
One thing about these style of brushes is that they've been known to snap around the neck of the brush. These feel quite sturdy, but because they're still somewhat flexible, I would recommend being gentle on them to keep them from breaking.
While it's an unusual shape, after a use or two it becomes so easy to use. I like to use swiping, buffing and patting motions when I use these brushes, depending on what product I'm applying.
The brush "hairs" are synthetic fibres so you can use both powder and creams with them. Because they're not real hair they're also a great set for those that are after cruelty free brushes.
While they're all very soft and gentle, the largest brush is amazingly soft! It feels like bunnies snuggling into your skin! The small and medium brush feel a lot more dense and sturdy, so while they're soft the brush hairs don't have as much give as the large one does.
I'm so glad that I bought these as they're beautiful brushes, in both function and from an aesthetically pleasing standpoint. Get in quick as I know my local store only had 2 left last week!
They retail for $49.95 and are only available from Priceline. Priceline are having 40% off make up on Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd of March. I'm not sure if the packs are included but if they are you should pick one up!
I hope that they release a larger set for Christmas as I would love to have some matching eye brushes to go with the set!
Will you be picking these up?

DeleteOoooh NBN have brought out their own style of oval brush. I would love to go and have a play with these in store. Have you managed to washing them? How clean can you get them? I had a very small style of oval brush a while back but no longer use it because I can't actually clean it properly.

I also picked one up at 40% off, they look lovely and are extremely soft. The lady who said they are like fluffy bunnies is spot on. :)
ReplyDeleteFYI they come to $29 for the pack if you can manage to find them in the sale :D
ReplyDeleteOh these sound fab! I tried out some oval brushes before and just couldn't get them to work for me but they was really cheap and flimsy, these sound amazing though! I love the look of the big one!
